Beyond Our Walls
As we strive to go beyond the walls of our building and reach out to our community, there are some organizations that we are partnering with. Each of these organizations are serving in different areas and different ways.
The Ronald McDonald House has opportunities for us to serve by cooking and serving a meal to the families that are staying there while their child is in the hospital
Vineyard Family Services has the Backpack Buddies program that provides food for children from low income families with groceries for the weekend when free school lunches and breakfasts are not provided. They are also a sponsor of the Me and Mommy Day on July 27. This is a day for kids with incarcerated moms and Crossbridge will be providing a birthday booth for the children on that day.
Second Shift is an organization that works with at risk children that are aging out of foster care. Without assistance, these kids will most likely end up in the streets or in jail. Second Shift has different levels of mentor ship that allow you to come along beside one of these children and provide some level of support. They also provide start up assistance with "Beginning Bins", an all inclusive kit packed with the basics to set up house- keeping.
And last, we will have the opportunity to provide meals this fall for Campus House.
As you can see, the needs are many and each of us can get involved in some way to show the love of Jesus to the hurting and vulnerable in our city.
Please pray about how you can serve and visit the church Facebook page to sign up on Sign-up Genius ( link below). There will also be a table in the foyer on Sundays with all of the available areas and ways to serve.
