Ministries and Missions
Remember the first time you attended a church? What were your anxieties? What helped you feel more at home? Likely, you remember very little about the songs, prayers or sermon. What you do remember is how you were received by the group at large.
Were you warmly greeted at the door and assisted? Were you left to fend for yourself or were you shown where to go? As a “stranger”, did you feel welcomed among the group, or did you feel like an intruder that was ignored?
On any given Sunday, CrossBridge is blessed with a number of first-time guests. There is nothing more important to connecting new people to a church than their being warmly received and assisted. Greeting therefore, is not a peripheral ministry to the “important ones.” This role is absolutely essential to the growth of CrossBridge, both spiritually and numerically.
Think back to the time when coming to CrossBridge was a “new” experience for you. Do you remember what questions you had as you tried to navigate around our property? Were there people available to show you where to go? Was there a friendly face to help answer your questions?
Connectors are a “second level” connection opportunity for those that choose to attend with us at CrossBridge on any given Sunday. Here is the vision for how this will work. Those serving as Greeters will be the first contact as one enters our building. Then there will be a second set of people to welcome everyone and be available to answer any questions, provide assistance etc. These “second level helpers” are called the CrossBridge Connectors. One couple is available in the CrossBridge lobby each Sunday.
