What is Rooted?

Rooted is a 10-week discipleship experience which seeks to create pathways for people to become more like Christ. Through simple yet profound spiritual practices in community, it is designed to help anyone take clear steps forward in their life with God. Whether you are a new Christian or have walked with Jesus for a long time, this experience will help you know God and others at CrossBridge in a more robust way. You will have the opportunity to share your own story, discuss biblical teachings, journey through a devotional book, experience prayer and service together, and encounter the power of God through community and his Spirit. This is a simple yet powerful step towards a deeper walk with God and with other believers.

What’s the cost?

There is a $40/person fee to cover the cost of the devotional books, meal and supplementing childcare. For the cost of one nice coffee a week, it is well worth the small investment to join in this intentional community. Please reach out to Zach or Paige if this cost presents an issue. Please don’t let the cost prevent you from participating if you feel a call to join a group!

What happens beyond Rooted?

The ultimate hope of Rooted is for small group communities to continue and grow beyond the 10-week experience. Towards the end of Rooted, each group will begin considering if this is something they feel called on continue. If a group decides to continue on, then they will receive support from Zach and Paige to step fully into this. Each group can determine how frequently they get together and the specifics of any content they’d like to focus on and study. Zach and Paige will be available as resources to encourage these groups as they continue their life together.

When is Rooted this Fall?

We will launch our next round of Rooted groups on Sunday, January 14th and groups will meet each week for 10 weeks. Below are the dates and times for each group meeting as well as the two experiences that will occur outside of the normal group meetings.

(Child care is provided for prayer experience, but not the serve experience).

Week 1- Sunday, June 2, 4-5:30pm

Week 2- Sunday, June 9, 4-5:30pm

Week 3- Sunday, June 16, 4-5:30pm

Prayer Experience– Sat, June 22, 4-6pm

Week 4- Sunday, June 23, 4-5:30pm

Week 5- Sunday, June 30, 4-6pm* *extended 1/2 hour for this day

Week 6- Sunday, July 7, 4-5:30pm

Serve Experience- TBD by each group

Week 7- Sunday, July 14, 4-5:30pm

Week 8- Sunday, July 21, 6:30-7:30pm

Week 9- Sunday, July 28, 4-5:30pm

Week 10- Sunday, August 4, 4-6pm* *extended 1/2 hour for this day

Zach grew up here in Hoover, AL. He attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN where he completed a B.A. in Theology and Ministry in 2013 and a Masters of Divinity in 2018. In 2014 he spent 11 months in Brisbane, Australia serving with local churches and schools and has many cherished relationships there.
Zach met his incredible wife, Jordan, here in Birmingham and they have a precious boy named Hughston and are expecting their second child in September 2023.  They live in Pelham, AL.
Zach enjoys God and loves the church. He enjoys hanging out with his wife, son and friends, discussing theology and books, singing and picking the guitar with friends, coffee, cooking and hanging out around a campfire.
