Rooted is a 10-week discipleship experience which seeks to create pathways for people to become more like Christ. Through simple yet profound spiritual practices in community, it is designed to help anyone take clear steps forward in their life with God. Whether you are a new Christian or have walked with Jesus for a long time, this experience will help you know God and others at CrossBridge in a more robust way. You will have the opportunity to share your own story, discuss biblical teachings, journey through a devotional book, experience prayer and serving together, and encounter the power of God through community and his Spirit. This is a simple yet powerful step towards a deeper walk with God with other believers.
How Does it work?
For 10 consecutive weeks, participants will meet with their group of 10-15 people once a week on Sundays from 4pm-5:30pm (unless otherwise stated) for a time of discussion, sharing stories and prayer. Childcare is provided.
Participants will engage in daily devotionals 5 days each week over various biblical topics with the opportunity for journaling, reflection and prayer. The devotional material serves as the conversation topics for each group meeting.
Each week, two different people in the group will have 3-5 minutes to share their story of how they came to faith in Christ and what lead them to join the Rooted group.
On week 5, group members are invited and encouraged to share sin and strongholds in their lives and receive prayer, support and encouragement. Previous participants have said this particular day served as one of the most powerful experiences for them.
Towards the conclusion of the 10 weeks, each group will be asked to discern if God is calling their group to continue on as a small group beyond the conclusion of the 10 weeks of Rooted.
There are two additional "experiences" that each group will participate in on two different Saturdays throughout the 10 weeks. The first is a prayer experience where each group will be lead in a powerful and enriching time of collective prayer, followed by a meal and fellowship. The second is a serve experience where each group will gather to serve our community; we will encourage this serve day to partner with some of our ongoing ministries we support and serve as a church.

What's the cost?
There is a $40/person fee to cover the cost of the devotional books, meal and supplementing childcare. For the cost of one nice coffee a week, it is well worth the small investment to join in this intentional community.

When Is Rooted?
There are Rooted groups 3 times a year: Winter, Summer and Fall. Sign ups for each new round of Rooted open several weeks before launching.
Typically, group meetings occur on Sunday evenings from 4-5:30pm (On a few occasions, 4-6pm) here at the church building.
The Prayer Experience occurs on the 3rd Saturday evening after the launch. The Serve Experience is determined by the group in both activity and date.

What happens beyond Rooted?
The ultimate hope of Rooted is for small group communities to continue and grow beyond the 10-week experience. Towards the end of the 10 week Rooted experience, each group will begin considering if they feel called to continue on as a small group community. If a group decides to continue on, then they will receive support from Zach and Paige to step fully into this. We encourage groups who feel led to continue on as a small group to meet no less frequently than every other week.
Our goal is growth in Christ and community we hope Rooted helps groups toward that end. Each group can determine how frequently they get together and the specifics of any content they'd like to focus on and study. Zach and Paige will be available as resources to encourage these groups as they continue their life together.
